Let the teasing commence.
Getting this title has raised an interesting dilemma for me regarding professional game reviews. It’s something I intend to address in the next couple of days once I get my thoughts about it in order.
The game? Forget the story and all the online drama. Just play it to play it. You know, like Pac Man. I think if the game just said, “There are a bunch of bad monsters threatening humanity. Kill them.” It would have been fine.
Other than constant drops, the three co-op games I’ve played so far have been fun.
Since getting the PS3, I’ve been itching to play some PS2 games I’ve missed (either playing or missed playing). I picked up Shadow of the Colossus and Rogue Trooper.
Rogue Trooper is one of the most underrated, insanely fun games I’ve ever played. (UPDATE: I found this while googling. Holy crap, on the Wii!)

I told you it’s fun!
I don’t mind the story but it’s just presented so poorly in this game that it’s a shame, because there is some neat stuff going on below the surface.
But the core gameplay is addictive as hell. The fact that co-op games change the layout of the levels from the single player campaign is also great.
It’s something that I can see myself beating in the next day or two and then pulling out now and then to play when things get slow, much like Crackdown. Lots of fun but not the deepest story.

Exactly.
The core gameplay is just plain ‘ol fun. Forget the story. Just play. If the story was presented as text it would have been awesome. Sliding around is a blast.
Cyberspace can die of gonorrhea and rot in hell. Cookie?
Crackdown’s story is kinda lame–until the very end.

And the loot!? Tell me about the LOOT?
Nat says
There is loot.
Tons of customizable, colorful, wonderful looking loot. The detail that goes into each and every item is amazing.
Only the names a funny. I think they are randomly created.
“Pulsar Rifle of Peace”
Haha.
Tony says
YES! Random names are awesome. A “rifle of peace” is classic. Colorful loot is awesome. Nothing was better in Diablo II than seeing a bright yellow or green item drop.
Nat says
In this game you want red.
Tony says
Interesting color choice. Red usually means “bad” or “danger”. I guess bright red does catch the eye, though.
