It’s the monthly releases, yay hurray! The past few months haven’t been that great, but I thought now was as good as any time to bring back the monthly releases. As I started doing late last year, I’m just linking games I think the Buttonmashing readers will be interested in. No more Imagine Babyz High Fashion Designer 3!
Week of February 2nd
World In Conflict
Week of February 9th
Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection – How many times are they going to go to the Retro Well?
F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin – Looking interesting. I need to play the demo, but I’m intrigued.

Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and the Damned – Yeah, this is going to be an awesome month.
Street Fighter IV
Week of February 23rd

Onechanbara – Again, with the bikinis.
Deadly Creatures – I don’t know why, but I’m intrigued by the idea of playing as a tarantula, attacking humans.
Week of February 23rd
Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop – Will Nat pick it up? Will he (us) be soul-crushingly disappointed? I hear Otis coming through on the walkie-talkie: “Don’t do it, man. Do not open that door.” We know how well things turned out last time we didn’t listen to him.
Week of February 2nd
I refuse to link to “My Drivers Ed” or “Petz Horseshoe Ranch” or “Jojo’s Fashion Show.” I’m not going to do it.

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon – Alright, now we’re talking, Nintendo. I am anxiously awaiting new Fire Emblem goodness.

Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero? – I do love me some Prinnies.
February looks to be a solid month for new games. What’s on your wishlist?
Brock says
You do realize that the Fire Emblem game on the DS is actually an update/localization of the very first Fire Emblem game, right?
Not that that is a bad thing… I mean, for all intents and purposes, it’s a new thing for us, but I’d bet that it feels old as opposed to being a fresh new FE game.
About the only thing I’m really excited to get this month is Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero. I’d like to play the new Star Ocean, but I can track that down at my leisure when it drops to $40 or lower like every other non-FF game Square has put out.
Same with DQV. I want to get it but I’ve barely turned on DQIV…
I’ll rent FEAR 2, as I hear it’s going to take place in environments that aren’t office cubicles, but I’m so shootered out…
Woolfman says
Warhammer Dawn of War II is looking like a ton of fun. I want some Campaign Coop! Whooo! Hooo! Go Blood Angles! ๐
Brock says
Have any of you tried the Puzzle Quest: Galactrix demo online yet? I have to say that I really don’t see myself getting Galactrix any time soon. It just felt unintuitive. The way the new blocks move in from the various sides just never really jelled for me.
n0wak says
“Retro Game Challenge” is the localized version of the much lauded Game Centre DX game, so, yeah, that’s on my list. I wonder how the localization of that will be though.
And the biggest decision of the month: SFIV PS3 or 360. And, more so, what controller/stick to get…
n0wak says
er, I mean CX
Jason O says
“Two things geeks (and men) love: Bikinis and Zombies. What could be better?”
A decent game?
Tony says
@Brock – I wasn’t aware the FE was an update. Either way I’m still interested. It’s been a while since I’ve played a FE game, so I think it will at least have that “new game” smell. The Prinny game sounds a little gimmicky, but I love the Prinnies in Disgaea DS, so I’m intrigued by that one.
@n0wak – What is Game Centre CX? That one doesn’t ring any bells.
I’m interested in picking up a stick for SFIV as well. I need that money tree to replenish itself first.
@Jason – A decent game would be great, sure. But: Zombies. Also: Bikinis. ๐
Nat says
The Ultimate Genesis Collection seems interesting, but, yeah, I’ve got enough games.
Tony says
A couple games (Sims 3 and Godfather II) have been delayed, so I’ve updated to reflect that. I’m a little bummed about Godfather II being delayed, but that just means I will have more time for the Lost and the Damned.
