Weekend Gaming

May 28, 2010 by Tony 7 Comments

It’s been too long since we’ve done one of these, but with a holiday weekend ahead of us and a bunch of good games out there, I’m wondering what games you’ll be playing this long, wonderful weekend.

Me, I am very close to finishing up the single player campaign in Splinter Cell. After that, I’d love to hook up with some buttonmashers to give the co-op missions a try. I’ve heard they’re great. I also would like to wrap up Mass Effect 2, which is just sitting there, eyeing me, waiting to be finished. Oh, and there’s a new Mario game, too. The kids have been anxiously awaiting this game (and by kids, I mean me and my kids). I’ll be picking it up sometime this weekend.

What are you playing?

Oh, man. I’ve bought more games in the last month than I have in the last two years. Here we go.

Red Dead Redemption (My GOTY so far.)
    ModNation Racers
    Split/Second
    Uncharted 2
    Just Cause 2
    Bit.Trip Runner
    Dead Space Extraction (from Gamefly)
    Picross 3D
    Beat hazard

Plus, my son and I have been on this hilarious co-op PixelJunk Shooter kick.

Also, we have been going nuts with the Wings of War card/miniatures game. I am amazed at how well that as a 7-year-old he can figure out dogfighting and anticipating moves.

Of course, being the holiday, there is going to be some outside stuff as well. The kids are gone until Sunday. So, it’s a game party in the evening.

Oh, and Mario can stick it.

    I have reasons.

Red Ring? I’ve fixed 7 of them now. 100% success rate. What was a $99 repair, was a $6 permanent fix.

Amazing what some high quality thermal paste will do.
