Just got back from the theater. Saw a little movie, you might have heard of it — King Kong. Wow.
Wow, was that movie visceral and intense!
Wow, was the action amazing (once it got started).
Wow, was that movie long.
Wow, was Jack Black out of his league.
Wow, were some of those sequences both breathtaking and heartbreaking.
Wow, was that an excellent movie!

Yeah, it was a good movie. I thought Jack Black was alright, considering that he’s supposed to be some sort of zany comedian guy.

Jack Black was alright, it’s just that in a movie of this magnitude, they needed someone great. He didn’t detract from the movie much, he just didn’t bring anything special to it. Everytime they’d do a close up of him delivering some profound line, I kept waiting for a fart joke or something. He’s got that goofy glint in his eyes.

For some reason, I’m not that bothered to see this film.

Haha – I can definitely echo the sentiments of waiting for a fart joke out of Jack Black. The whole time he’s being serious, I’m thinking of him in his tighty whit-err, yellowies in Orange County with Tom Hanks’ kid.
I thought the movie was pretty powerful – had I not been in the visible eye of my wife and whoever sat around me, I may have let a tear loose during Kong’s – well, who wants to spoil a 72-year old ending. But Peter Jackson is just in a league of his own right now.
