I’m not selling one. But I’m starting to see a rather serious trend here (I could go on, but I’ll spare you). Question is: are there any buyers?
Now that movies on UMD are going the way of the Dodo, so goes the PSP? Will the DS Lite be the final nail in the coffin? Where are the good games, Sony?!
I still have gadget envy everytime I see that gorgeous PSP screen but then I play a game of Animal Crossing. Or Metroid Prime Hunters. And I suddenly feel a twinge of superiority.

Mine is sold! My DS Lite is on the way and should be here tomorrow or Saturday (if it’s marked for Sat delivery) or Monday.

Dispite not owning a PSP I feel that the good games are right here.

I got rid of mine four days after the rootkit fiasco. Got a DS and three games for it.
I’ve never looked back.
Sony lost my loyality and my trust. At one time, I was a fanboy, but I’m voting with my dollar (not that it makes much of a difference).
I bought the damn thing to play games not watch overpriced movies and play dumbed down games at a premium.
Example:
MVP 2005 (Xbox) – $30
MVP 2005 (PSP) – $50 and missing 4 different modes from the console version.
Um…no I’m not stupid.
Lumines is it’s only redeeming quality and the fact you can play NES games on it by hacking it. The screen sure is pretty, but to me it’s a $250 brick.
Suck it, Sony.

Mike – I’m surprised it sold that fast. I’d like to get my Lite soon, too, but I’ll be waiting for the US release. I’m jealous, though!
Hart – those games look like decent games, but nothing compelling. I can pick some variation of most of those games on other consoles. Lumines is the only one that interests me.
ag – Yea, I knew you weren’t a huge fan of the PSP. I think ‘voting’ with your dollars does in fact make a difference. Sony can’t be happy with all their “fans” jumping ship.

The two Mega Man remakes look like a solid buy.
Essentially, the problem with the PSP boils down to two things: Sony is a terrible first-party publisher/developer, and there aren’t many original titles on the platform. If there are original titles, chances are they end up getting overlooked and become difficult to find.
The third problem, which I neglected to mention in the above list, relates to how the system was promoted. Sony has a potential iPod and Gameboy killer in their midst. What do they do? They neglect putting a HDD in the thing and they generate a bunch of hoopla over another doomed proprietary format. Brilliant!
