Prototype: Top 10 Reasons Trailer

March 27, 2009 by James 8 Comments

These are the same guys who brought us the old Hulk game on the xbox and that was fun for the era. This new game kind of blows that one out of the water from what I’ve seen. Any of the reasons that they listed in the trailer for getting the game work for me. I especially like the pwning anyone clip.

Powerbomb someone off of a skyscraper?

Yes please!

That’s not my favorite part though. My favorite reason to get this game is the devastator attacks. The screen-encompassing attacks look great and seem to get the job done.

More agility than spider-man, stronger than the hulk, and add the symbiote abilities of venom only more deadly, anyone going to be able to stop this guy?

P.S. That armblade he has is wicked cool.

I’m still leaning more towards inFamous than Prototype…

@Brock – I can see the similarities between the two games but I’m interested in what makes you lean towards inFamous?

I think that inFamous will be an awesome game too. The good and evil side to the game is always an interest to see how the character evoles.

If nothing else, the pedigree of inFamous has me more excited for it. I also think that Prototype just seems to be blatantly pushing the envelope with all of the gore and so forth. I’m not opposed to that kind of stuff, but when it seems to override a lot of other elements of the game, it kind of puts me off.

But the Sly Cooper games on the PS2 were amongst my favourite games of all time, so it’s a given that I’ll go with inFamous.

Those are some informed reasons Brock. I can definitely respect the decision to go with a “pedigree” that you know and have enjoyed before. That’s how we keep those companies going right? By purchasing the games they make.

I also see what you mean, “Prototype just seems to be blatantly pushing the envelope with all of the gore and so forth. I’m not opposed to that kind of stuff, but when it seems to override a lot of other elements of the game, it kind of puts me off.” I just hope they can do something similar to Assassin’s Creed, which I thought had a good balance between story and action(even though it could have used some more side stories).

Thanks for giving your reasons. Appreciate it.

I think I’m also leaning more towards inFamous than Prototype. I like the look and gameplay style better in inFamous.

Well never mind. I just saw that it’s PS3 only. 😛 Still looks better.

The PS3 exclusivity might hurt inFamous more than anything.

I still want to try Prototype and hope it’s better than the feeling I’m getting from it right now, but it’s a rental as opposed to the day 1 purchase that inFamous is for me.
