I was listening to Opie and Anthony the other day and was introduced to the beauty that is The Angry Nintendo Nerd (AKA The Angry Video Game Nerd) on Youtube.
Before I start to get into this hilarious series I must warn you if you are easily offended by vulgar language or have little ones within earshot of your PC speakers DO NOT WATCH THESE!
James Wolfe puts his alter-ego on display in reviewing a large number of Atari and 8 and 16-bit games while pulling no punches on his true thoughts of them. Older gamers will recognize many of the titles lampooned including The Karate Kid, Back to the Future, and Top Gun as well as not-so-popular games like MC Kids and Bible Games. If you only watch one or two of them, make sure one is the Atari 5200 review. (*And if anyone knows what game’s music is playing when he drops the TV on his foot please let me know.)
For as amateur in presentation as these clips are each one is worth watching. I’m not sure if his rants are off-the-cuff or rehearsed but it really doesn’t matter, watch the video on The Power Glove to see what I mean.
yeah, that funny for all of what, 3 episodes. then you realized it was some random NES footage and 30 words that would make your grandma spit her teeth at you a second =/
It’s a selctive taste that’s for sure. And my Grandma would have just plain beaten the living tar out of me… then spit her teeth out.
Great reviews. Now I know what 20+ year old games not to buy. It was pretty funny though. At least for a couple of minutes.
