Death to Clamshell Packaging…

December 22, 2008 by Nat 1 Comment

…at least for Sony products.

TRANSLATION: This anti-theft practice is just ripe for a lawsuit when grandma slits her wrists open with her new PS3 controller packaging so she can get her Sackboy on.

Kudos for them to try and make it easier.

I’m all for it. I’ve noticed that some clamshell packaging is coming with slightly easier to open sides and such, but it’s still such a pain and there is so much wasted plastic.

I like the initiative Amazon and some of the other online electronics retailers are starting. Since it makes no sense to have all of that anti-theft packaging for something that is going directly from a warehouse to your house, they’re doing away with it. Yay!
