Burnout Paradise Party

March 8, 2009 by Nat Leave a Comment

The teens of my youth group have discovered Party Mode. Not everyone is there, the other half was on the other side of the house playing Ticket to Ride. We played a few rounds. None of them had ever played Paradise before. I was surprised at how easy it was for them to pick up and play.

Why is it since Google acquired Youtube that the video quality has been crap? Vimeo was ten times better. NOTE: Those of you using readers will have to visit the site for the video.

InFamous Trailer = “I’m Scared”

March 6, 2009 by Nat 3 Comments

This is the only AAA (read:overpriced) title I’m looking forward to this year. It sort of reminds me of Crackdown. That is a Good Thing.TM

Eating My Own Butt

March 5, 2009 by Brock 4 Comments

About 2 weeks ago, a little experiment was unleashed upon the PSN by the creator of Katamari Damacy called Noby Noby Boy.

There’s not a lot to the game, but it is oddly compelling in its own special way. You are BOY, you stretch by moving both ends of your body in opposite directions and eating things which let you stretch further. That’s about it. There is also a meta game where you report your length to GIRL, who aggregates all of the lengths of all of the BOYs playing Noby Noby Boy on the PSN and that length tallies up as she stretches from Earth to the Moon and beyond.

Which is all well and good, but what I’m here to show you is the best part of the game. If BOY is stretched too far too fast or gets run over by one of the strange, strange denizens of whatever random level he’s spawned upon, he can snap in half. How does BOY go back to his own stretchy self?

He eats his own butt.

Behold.

Did I mention that NNB lets you record your games and upload them directly to Youtube! It also has the best homepage URL in the history of the internet (after BM, of course…)

If you’ve got $5, a PS3 and a connection to the internet, I implore you to show that creativity can thrive and grab a copy of the game!

A Legend Passes

January 15, 2009 by Nat 1 Comment

While this may not be gaming related many of us here have a fondness for one of the best villains ever put to film. Ricardo Montalban passed away today.

In respect.

Hulk vs. Wolverine

January 14, 2009 by James 6 Comments

Movie Trailers – Movies Blog

I’ve been following this movie whenever they show new clips. I thought I would share this one with everybody. It was going to be a rental for me but I might have to actually consider buying it. 😉 There is also a Hulk vs. Thor movie coming out that was more appealing to me but, after this clip I think I’m beginning to be swayed. Wolverine used to be favorite Marvel character until they over used him. I still like him though, don’t get me wrong.

I think my favorite part is when Wolverine learns to fly.

The more I see the more excited I get.

January 9, 2009 by James Leave a Comment

Alright, I know I’ve posted some video of Dawn of War II already and all, but I mean come on. After seeing this video I had to post it.

Any RTS/RPG (whatever you want to classify it as) that let’s some of your units trample through the level trashing things in the way and bashing through walls is good start to any game in my book. Add to that the Warhammer 40K universe and story, and I think we have an early running for the Game of the Year for this new year already.

Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy! = )
