I just wanted to see what those of you out there think about Halo:Reach. I just read some info regarding the Arena and the matchmaking/social aspect of the game. I also watched the multiplayer trailer again, saw this awesome concept art, and I have to tell you, I am starting to get even more interested. Anyone else?

It worked every time
You used to blow into your NES cartridges to make them work (even though it was probably nothing more than the Placebo Effect). Now you can make some sweet music with your very own Custom Nintendo Super Mario 3 Harmonica!
Blur Impressions [beta]
The Blur beta started today on the 360, and yours truly was able to score a code. Let me say this: Think Burnout Paradise + licensed cars + Mario Kart – annoying powerup randomness + the leveling mechanic of Call of Duty = the best online racing experience I’ve ever had. I knew this just fifteen minutes in. Each race is about 5 minutes long and is intense, pretty, and wonderful throughout the entire course. If they make no major changes in the negative, this is a must buy. Now to get it on PS3 or 360?
Sad day….
I think this is the end is near for Blockbuster.
Not only are they bringing back late fees, which nobody likes, but they are raising the prices of old releases to 5$. Wow. I thought that they were circling the toilet before.
Get in the Blur Beta [360]
The fine folks at 4 color rebellion are handing out beta keys for the Bizarre Creations Game, Blur. These guys made the Project Gotham Racing series and Geometry Wars. Hits in my book. blur looks extreme. Right now they have 50 keys posted and have a ton more to hand out. Are you in? I am.
inFamous on the Cheap
If you have a PS3 and have never played inFamous, now is the time for you to jump. Amazon is selling it for their video game deal of the day for $27. Not too bad a price.
General Knoxx Arrives This Week
Hundreds of hours?
As I was perusing my daily inbox of gaming news when I came across this snippet from IGN regarding Fallout: New Vegas:
The area to explore is roughly the same size as what you got in Fallout 3 and Bethesda is promising that it will take hundreds of hours to explore.
Now, I don’t know what my total game time for Fallout 3 is, but I’d peg it around 60+ hours. I haven’t explored the entire map and I haven’t played any of the expansions but the thought of “hundreds of hours” is a little daunting. I have other games to play, Bethesda!
Violence and video games together again
Most be another one of those violent video games, right?
An Italian man who argued with his son over Sony PlayStation tactics was recovering in hospital on Monday after the teenager stabbed him in the neck with a 15-inch kitchen knife, police and hospital officials said.
What was he playing? Grand Theft Auto IV? Modern Warfare 2? God of War?
The man, identified as Fabrizio R., suffered a deep cut to the throat after his 16-year-old son, Mario, attacked him during an argument on Sunday over the soccer video game FIFA 2009.
Huh. So it wasn’t a violent video game that led to this violent outburst. My world view = shattered.
