Weekend Gaming

January 15, 2010 by Tony 6 Comments

Another weekend is upon us. This weekend may not present many opportunities to game for me, but when they do I’ll be engrossed in Dragon Age. So far I like what I’ve seen and am looking forward to seeing a whole lot more. If I only get a moment or two for gaming it will probably be some Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. I’d also like to get back to Borderlands, so that is always an option.

What are you playing?

In my Hands

January 11, 2010 by Tony 6 Comments

In my (overflowing) hands:

You would think I already have enough games to play, and you would be right. Gamefly, however, would like to disagree with you and sent me a copy of Dragon Age: Origins for the 360. Of course I’m excited about this, but I really just want to play some Modern Warfare 2 and Borderlands. But I’ll make the sacrifice!

Giving Back

Probably one of the greatest success stories to ever come from the gaming community–and probably the Internet–has been Penny Arcade. I think here is the reason why.

It’s A Balance 0 Option

January 2, 2010 by Nat 1 Comment

I saw something over at Penny Arcade that piqued my interest today. Leave Home is an abstract (+5pts.) shooter (+10pts.) on Indie-XBLA that plays different (+5pts.) every run through. It’s 240 MS dollars. My XBLA balance? 240 MS dollars. Is this a win/win? (Video at the jump or link.)

I Feel So Weak

January 1, 2010 by Will 1 Comment

I was all ready to take a stance against Microsoft. “No, I will NOT buy another one of your 360s! I already bought two, and had them each replaced twice, only to have them both die!” is what I imagined myself yelling at MS while shaking my fist. After only three days, I caved in and picked one up at Best Buy. Having a $40 coupon and getting Dragon Age: Origins for free helped to ease my bruised ego.

Weekend Gamer

January 1, 2010 by Tony 2 Comments

Welcome to the first Weekend Gamer of 2010! This should be a great weekend for everyone. This afternoon is the Granddaddy of them All, the Rose Bowl with my Ohio State Buckeyes against the Oregon Ducks. Afterwards I’m hoping for a big weekend of gaming. I’ve got three new FPSes: Left 4 Dead 2, Halo 3: ODST and Modern Warfare 2. I’ve had a little time with all three, so I’m not ready to make any judgements of which is the best, but I’m looking forward to playing all three.

I’m also looking forward to kicking off out “Fun Game of the Year” posts for 2009. We’ve got all the bases covered and these posts should be going live soon. We hope you enjoy them and add your own additions to our lists.

So what will you be playing this weekend? What are you looking forward to in 2010?

In my hands

December 25, 2009 by Tony 6 Comments

Under our tree and in my hands: New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Left 4 Dead 2. (I also got Halo 3: ODST from Gamefly.) I hope to get in quite a bit of gaming next week!

Crushed

December 25, 2009 by Jason O 3 Comments

Boy, I rarely have a pile of shame this big. Between the holidays, sales, and some Blockbuster stores going out of business around me I have acquired a ton of games just in December. For the PC I now have Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Haze for the PS3, Phantasy Star 0 for the DS, and Shadowrun, Ace Combat 6, Quake 4, Wolfenstein, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Pure, Call of Juarez, Too Human, Lost Odyssey, and Dragon Age: Origins for the 360. 13 games right before my favorite game purchasing season is about to start!

Are you Freaking Kidding Me?!

December 24, 2009 by Nat 1 Comment

We bought the boys Super Mario Bros. Wii for Christmas and gave it a spin today. Find out that our Wii is suffering from an artifacts glitch. It’s pretty bad on levels with a lot of blue sky. The only hope? A $75 repair. That’s two separate systems in less than one month.

Killing your productivity

One flash game at a time…

An NBA game usually lasts two and a half hours. I spent the majority of the Cavs vs. the Suns playing this little flash game. Physics and sports, my favorite combination.
